SEEDS OF PEACE CHALLENGE
Seeds of Peace Rules for Participation
- Seeds of Peace 2004 is open to all U.S. residents between the ages of 13 and 21.
- Each project team must include at least 3 youths and 1 adult mentor. The adult mentor can be a teacher, a parent, a youth group leader.
- Names and addresses of team members must be provided, and will be kept confidential by the Dalai Lama Foundation, according to the Foundations Privacy Policy.
- All team members must agree to the Seeds of Peace Pledge (below).
- Register your project here on the Dalai Lama Foundation YouthMoves website by May 20, 2004. The Project Plan must call for the Project to be completed by start of the school year in September 2004.
- The team must share progress and results with the online YouthMoves community as they go about the Project. This can take the form of email, pictures, journal dispatches, blogs, videos, etc.
- Participation in the April 16 Ethics for the New Millennium Conference at U.C. Irvine, or any purchase whatsoever, is not required to participate in the Seeds of Peace Challenge.
- Void where prohibited by law.
The Seeds of Peace Pledge
I affirm that my Seeds of Peace project has an altruistic purpose, to contribute to others in some way that promotes happiness, peace, reconciliation, etc.
I pledge to follow the principle of non-harming in all aspects of the projects execution. I will take care not to bring harm to people or animals in the process of achieving the projects goals.
I promise to do my best to complete the project once I have begin it.
