Max is a person of wisdom beyond his years. Certainly he's taken to heart Mahatma Gandhi's quote, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." But focusing within rather than outside can be a double-edged sword.

Even though Max does seek real change, there is the danger that all the inward questioning may not foster much action, changing little in the end. On the other hand, his advanced ideas could be the start of something great.
