When Bunthoeun paints graffiti murals that speak against youth violence he knows first-hand the subject matter. An ex-gang member, he's now learning very different skills such as proper painting techniques, self-reliance, even financial responsibility.

But peace in East Oakland, California, is fragile at best. And his dream of someday designing—or "hitting up"—corporate logos as a professional graphic artist is just that at this point—a dream. Will the fire inside him be enough to beat the odds?
