Educators for Nonviolence Summer Teachers’ Conference: Creating a Culture of Nonviolence
In just a few weeks Educators For NonViolence is holding their second annual summer teacher conference at the University of California, Berkeley. Teachers from all educational levels are invited to come and experience a range of approaches to using nonviolence inside and outside of the classroom.
The conference begins the evening of Friday, July 20th, and continues all day Saturday, July 21st.
Well-known speakers and panelists include: Michael Nagler, founder of the Metta Center and the Peace and Conflict Studies program at UC Berkeley; Rachel MacNair, Director of the Institute for Integrated Social Analysis; Joseph E. Marshall, Jr., founder and executive director of Omega Boys Club/Street Soldiers; Azim Khamisa, founder of the Tariq Khamisa Foundation; Jack DuVall, executive producer of the PBS television series A Force More Powerful; and Lynda Smith, Nonviolent Communications teacher and former newspaper editor and Waldorf teacher.
