Flow ~ A Concert for Peace

We regret to announce that the Flow concert, scheduled to coincide with the Dalai Lama’s visit to the Bay Area next month, has been postponed for the time being. Our dear friend Nawang Khechog sustained a serious automobile accident, and is recovering at his home in Delhi. Our thoughts and prayers are with him. We look forward to rescheduling this "East meets West" collaboration featuring Nawang Khechog and Sanford Biggers for a future date.

The XIV Dalai Lama Endowed Scholarship
The University of California, Irvine

Following the Dalai Lama’s visit to UC Irvine in April of 2004, a group of private citizens created The XIV Dalai Lama Endowed Scholarship to encourage future generations of students to follow the ideals he shared during his visit.

The scholarship of up to $10,000 is awarded annually to students who exemplify the ideals of compassionate and ethical leadership, peace, ethics, and personal responsibility in the new millennium.

UCI Juniors Rajiv Ramdeo and Aswathi Sreedharan, recipients of the inaugural scholarship 2006, are pictured here with the Dalai Lama.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2007 Scholarship.

AirJaldi Summit Update

The AirJaldi Summit, held in India last October and November (2006), was a true adventure for everyone who was able to make the trip to Dharamsala. Now you can “be there too” thru online video!

People in many parts of the world do not have Internet connectivity because their communities are just a bit too far away from a network access point. Activists from all over the world gathered in Dharamsala, India, to discuss ways to address this “first mile problem.” Wireless technologies like the Dharamsala Mesh can bridge that first few miles or kilometers, giving rural communities a lifeline to the rest of the world.

Video of the keynote talks and the working sessions is now available online or can be sent to you on CD. Contact us if you’d like a set of CDs.
