The Dalai Lama Foundation—Canada
The Dalai Lama Foundation—Canada has taken the lead in establishing and coordinating an association of educators, researchers, and representatives of peace organizations. The association, EduPaix-EduPeace, seeks to promote a culture of peace through education strategies that foster compassion and the ethics of non-violence. Together we can engender a harmonious society guided by an awareness of global interconnectedness and the principle of universal responsibility.
EduPaix-EduPeace has four areas of strategic focus:
1. Peace education conference in Montreal in autumn 2008.
2. Educational outreach within the formal school system and the wider community.
3. Research on peace education.
4. Peace networking and peace advocacy.
Recognizing the synergistic rewards of cooperation and coordination as well as its national mandate, the Dalai Lama Foundation-Canada is extending the peace networking and advocacy focus of EduPaix-EduPeace throughout Canada.

Our Annual Mailing
Each year we send a postal mailing to all parties who've donated or have expressed interest in receiving news from The Foundation. We completed our 2006 mailing in early December.
We include in that mailing a recap of our activities, plus information about program activities for the upcoming year.
You can read all of the mailed pieces online if you didn't receive them.
We get many returned pieces of mail - returned as "undeliverable" because you've moved. So, if you've moved recently and if you did not receive our mailing, please log in at dalailamafoundation.org/join using your log-in name (which we suggest be your email address) and password, and please correct your postal address in our files. We will appreciate it, and you'll also receive next year's mailing.
We include a donation card along with instructions about how to make your donation online using PayPal or a credit card. The Foundation's programs are funded entirely by contributions, so if you've been thinking about it and haven't acted yet, visit our online donation page now.

What About Peace?
Global Exchange and Jadetree Three have announced the 2007 call for entries for High School students to consider peace in our world. The contest is designed to encourage youth to reflect on peace in 2006-2007, peace in the past, and if there is to be peace in the future.
The contest invites entrants to describe their thoughts, ideas, feelings, beliefs and experiences in one of these eight categories:
- Music
- Painting/Mixed Media
- Short Story
- Sculpture
- Poster/Graphics/Comics
- Poem
- Photograph
- Essay
Jadetree Three is a California trust dedicated to peace and social justice worldwide. Global Exchange is a membership-based international human rights organization dedicated to promoting social, economic and environmental justice around the world — helping to build people-to-people ties.

Finding out About the Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama Foundation was established to promote the teachings of the Dalai Lama in the areas of peace and ethics.
Of course, many of the searchers who arrive at our website are looking for information about the Dalai Lama himself, about his teaching schedule, or about Tibet. So, from time to time we will try to give you pointers that will help you find such things.
First, we created a page on our website that describes The Foundation and its purposes in a quick and greatly condensed “1-2-3” format. Go to www.dalailamafoundation.org, find the “Start Here” box and click to get a one-page introduction.
From that page you can click “Basic Information on the 14th Dalai Lama” in the left sidebar to get more detailed information about the Dalai Lama. And we also have a special page where we try to track webcasts and video excerpts from His Holiness's travels and teaching.
We maintain an Events page on which we link to many upcoming events involving His Holiness, but the authoritative source of information on His Holiness's travels and appearances is DalaiLama.com.
We will give you additional useful links in future newsletters.

Our email and web addresses will, of course, remain the same and you may easily contact us online. Our new larger office will allow us to better serve you.
