His Holiness will give a public talk on Ethics in Education in the early afternoon at Delhi University’s Stadium on the North Campus. More links and information to come.

The theme for this year’s summit will be Speak Up, Speak Out for Freedom and Rights. This annual event is internationally recognized as among the most important in the field of peacemaking, attracting Nobel Peace Laureates and hundreds of international high-profile leaders and organizations. Chicago is the first North American city to host the summit. Distinguished speakers will include His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, as well as many other luminaries.

On the 25th, His Holiness will be a guest at the 2012 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. The next day, he will give a public talk on non-violence, organized by the Tibet Center Chicago. Loyola University is donating space for the event, to be held at the Gentile Arena on the university’s Lake Shore Campus. Approximately 4,000 tickets will be available for purchase by the general public, with an additional 452 tickets provided free to students in grades 11 and 12 throughout Illinois.

On the morning of the 18th, His Holiness will participate in a panel discussion on Climate Change: Balance Through Universal Responsibility, Compassion and Human Consciousness at RIMAC Arena. In the afternoon, he will talk about  Cultivating Peace and Justice. On the morning of the 19th, His Holiness will give another public talk on Upholding Universal Ethics and Compassion in Challenging Times at the Viejas Arena Craig at the San Diego State University. On the 15th of April, His Holiness will give a public talk in the afternoon at the Stan Sheriff Center. Then on the morning of the 16th, His Holiness will participate in a traditional native Hawaiian Earth Blessing Ceremony at Kualoa Park. Website links and more information will become available.

The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education will present UBC’s John Helliwell, one of the leading minds investigating what makes us happy, in a special Speakers Series event. Dr. Helliwell’s lecture will combine scientific evidence with stories to illustrate where research on happiness is heading, and how its results can be used to improve your quality of life.

Gaden Shartse Thubten Dhargye Ling will be hosting a public talk by His Holiness the Dalai Lama entitled Peace of Mind in Troubled Time. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster and are also available for purchase at the Long Beach Convention Center Box Office.

This year’s Conference is for people who are passionate about creating a community of scientists, clinicians and educators intent on exploring the convergence of science, mindfulness and the democratic spirit of participation. Thich Nhat Hanh will lead a public walking meditation, starting in Trafalgar Square at 2pm. This is a free event and everyone is warmly invited to join in this celebration of peace within us and around us. At the end of the walk there will be a guided sitting meditation. Walking meditation is one of the ways to contemplate and generate the energy of peace, solidity, and freedom.

Created by Free The Children to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change, We Day is a day-long event that ignites a year-long program for change in cities across Canada. Several We Day events will be held and the first one takes place on the 16th of November at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in the Waterloo Region. Guest will include Naomi Tutu, Magic Johnson, Mia Farrow and others. On the 23rd of November, former US Vice President/Nobel Laureate Al Gore, Mia Farrow, Paul Martin and more will join 16,000 youth, educators and friends at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
